Greetings Louisburg UMC,
I hope you have had a great week!
Vacation Bible School is here! Before we even start thank you to Marilou and all the volunteers who have worked so hard getting everything set up! Please be sure to bring your kids, grandids, friends, and neighbor's kids!
Register here! It will be a great week!
With the Delta variant causing more cases of covid, I have had a few questions this week in terms of masks. I am going to invite all of us to do what is best for you and your family. If that means wearing a mask, please do! The most important thing is everyone's safety. I know that we will all respect whatever decisions each of us makes as individuals and families.
I really hope you will join us for worship Sunday. I will be using illustrations, stories, and pictures from this year's mission trip, and our previous mission trips. The theme this week will focus upon Jesus as carpenter. His profession is something that often gets overlooked. I wonder what it would be like to have Jesus show up at our house to fix things up. Please join us Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30 live, and at 10:30 via the livestream.
This year the VBS kids will be collecting soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, and deodrant for The Hub in Kansas City (where M&M Club had their mini-mission trip as well as the Middle School mission trip earlier this month). If you'd like to help them out, be sure to drop some off at the VBS table in the lobby!
Lastly, the LUMC Women's Club is back in action meeting on the first Thursday of the month. Their current mission project is in conjuction with M&M Club! They are collecting colorful bandages for
Noah's Bandage Project. Noah was a little boy diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma (a bone cancer) at age 6 and died 14 months later.
You can read about him here. You can bring boxes of colorful bandages to and drop them in the basket in the lobby by the VBS table!
Blessings,
Pastor Brad
